Four-star thatched house for a relaxing and interesting holiday with the whole family
This comfortably and invitingly furnished thatched house with an extensive garden stands alone, surrounded by fields and pastures, in a very quiet location by the embankment and therefore within walking distance of the tidal flats. It is part of a tranquil community in North Frisia, to the south-west of Husum, on the north coast of the Eiderstedt peninsula.
The large garden with mature trees, terraces facing the countryside and the water, as well as a wooden shed, and the large site with, invite you to spend time outdoors. Sun loungers, a parasol, garden tables and chairs are provided. Children will find plenty of space to play, climb and explore (e.g. play football or in the sandpit with toys next to the terrace), or you can enjoy the breeze on one of our tree swings.
The spacious holiday home provides 120m² of living space on two floors. All the rooms are very light, allowing plenty of daylight in through the many windows, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The floor is laid with parquet, except for the tiled bathrooms and kitchen, and there are exposed wooden beams on the ceiling. The ground floor comprises an open entrance and living room area with an integrated, fully-equipped kitchen, a laundry room and a bathroom, while the upper floor has two bedrooms with double beds and adjoining shower rooms. You step through the front door into the open entrance area with a wardrobe, an information table and two leather armchairs by the fireplace stove. You can find plenty of information material, advice and ideas here for an interesting and varied holiday. You go past this information corner to the open kitchen and the dining space for six people. The light kitchen is equipped with the basics, along with a fridge and freezer compartment, a dishwasher, a kettle, a toaster and a coffee machine for convenient self-catering. Then there is the living room with an XXL suite, where you can relax together after a day trip. It can also be converted into a bed for a fifth and sixth guest. A comfortable reading corner with an armchair, footrest and various books and the flatscreen TV with a satellite receiver, DVD player and stereo system provide entertainment. The living room provides access to the large bathroom with a shower, WC, stool, hairdryer and plenty of storage space. There are two large bedrooms on the upper floor with panoramic windows, flooded with daylight. The first bedroom is furnished with a Danish bed (180 x 200cm) with an electronically adjustable slatted frame. The second bedroom is furnished with a bed of the same size with 7-zone slatted frames. Here there is also a child’s bed (80 x 160cm). Each bedroom has its own bathroom with a WC, shower cubicle, stool, hairdryer and ample storage space. On the ground floor there is also a laundry room with a washing machine, an iron and ironing board, as well as a clothes stand, a laundry basket and pegs.
In the wider surroundings, the North Sea is just a kilometre away. The nearest shopping facilities are in Oldenswort about 6km away or Witzwort about 9km away. The holiday house is a central starting point for getting to the many places of interest on Eiderstedt by car or by bicycle. Everything is within easy reach, whether it is St. Peter-Ording (27km), the Westerhever lighthouse (22km) or the surrounding towns such as Husum (17km) with great shops and the beautiful harbour, the little town of Friedrichstadt (17km) or the fishing town Tönning (15km).
The special features include the information table, the child-friendly facilities with plenty of children’s books, games and board games for all age groups. The owners also run a large agricultural enterprise four houses away, which you are welcome to visit.
